Terms of Service
Play the game, enjoy it, don't break anything real. These terms are the longer version.
1. Agreement
Rack · Power · Cable (the "Game") at rackpowercable.com is operated by Danger Close Security Co. (dangerclose.co) ("we", "us"). By using the Game you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Game.
2. Playing the Game
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to play the Game in your web browser for your own non-commercial entertainment. The Game is currently free. We may change, pause or discontinue it, or any part of it, at any time.
3. What you may not do
- Attack, overload, probe or interfere with the website or the servers that host it.
- Use automated tools to scrape or mass-download the site in a way that degrades it for others.
- Remove or alter copyright or ownership notices, or pass the Game off as your own.
- Use the Game in violation of any applicable law.
4. Ownership
The Game, including its artwork, characters, text and code, belongs to Danger Close Security Co. or its licensors. Third-party components (such as the Three.js library and Google Fonts) are used under their own licences. If we publish any of the Game's source code under an open-source licence, that licence governs the code it covers.
5. It's a game
The Game simulates datacenters, networking, firewalls, security and business in a simplified, entertaining way. It is not professional, technical, security or financial advice. Don't rely on it to design, configure or secure real systems. Companies, customers, people and products in the Game (including "RocketBox") are fictional; any resemblance to real ones is coincidental.
6. Your saves
Saved games live in your browser's local storage (see the Privacy Policy). Browsers can clear that storage, and updates to the Game may not always be compatible with old saves. We aren't responsible for lost progress. Export a save file if you want a backup.
7. No warranty
The Game is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Danger Close Security Co. and its people won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, progress, profits or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Game. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Game is limited to US $10. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations; in those places, these limits apply to the extent permitted.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the effective date above. Continuing to use the Game after an update means you accept the new terms.
10. General
These terms are the entire agreement between you and us about the Game. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our not enforcing a provision isn't a waiver of it.
